Welcome to the Diaspora Desk (DD)! Our aim is to bridge the gap between residents of Ghana and Ghanaians living abroad as well as diasporas of African descent to create a new stream of investments for the Ghanaian economy. We believe that by harnessing the global Ghanaian resource potential for accelerated national development, we can build and maintain a healthy economic relationship between Ghana and its diaspora community.
At DD, we coordinate all activities and serve as the liaison for all projects, programs, and issues involving the diaspora community. We also promote and maintain active communication among resident and non-resident Ghanaians. We understand the challenges diasporas face when trying to invest in Ghana, so we ease the re-entry of diasporas into the Ghanaian market with our support services.
We provide information to advise diasporas about the investment climate and opportunities available in Ghana and maintain a database of all diaspora connections.
DD organizes road shows, exhibitions and engagement programs abroad with selected stakeholders for key discussions and feedback to create tailor-made programs to address pertinent issues facing the diaspora community in their quest to settle or invest in Ghana. Additionally, we hold stakeholder events and feedback engagements.
We believe that by providing a central point for the coordination of programs and activities between the Diaspora community and Ghana, we can encourage diasporas living abroad to invest in Ghana. This will create a new stream of investments for the Ghanaian economy and accelerate national development. Join us today to be part of this exciting journey!

As part of its renewed efforts to deepen diaspora engagement, the GIPC Diaspora Desk has initiated a series of strategic engagements with stakeholders.
The first stop was a productive courtesy call on the Diaspora African Forum, where the team engaged with the Chief of Mission, Ambassador Erieka Bennett to explore potential areas for collaboration and shared priorities.
The Desk also held discussions with Ms. Apiorkor Seyiram Ashong-Abbey of the Ahaspora Network, further reinforcing GIPC’s commitment to building strong partnerships within the diaspora community to court investment.
The Centre, in partnership with Elidel Travel & Tour, hosted a Diaspora Investment Dialogue Session on 27th June 2025 to deepen economic and cultural ties between the diaspora and Ghana.
The event brought together African American entrepreneurs and professionals, offering them the opportunity to engage with key regulatory institutions, gain insight into Ghana’s business environment, and explore available investment incentives.
The platform also enabled diaspora investors already operating in Ghana to share their journeys, experiences, and success stories, inspiring and informing others looking to invest.
The session featured a lineup of key speakers, including Mr. Kofi Okyere-Darko, MA, PRM, BA, Comm., Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President; Dr. Benjamin Quaye, Head of Special Projects at the Lands Commission; Ms. Prudence Aku Sosuh, Deputy Commissioner of the Ghana Immigration Service; Mr. Kwame Kesse-Agyepong, Deputy Director of the IP & BD Division at GIPC; and Ms. Nadia Okudzeto, Head of the Diaspora Desk at GIPC.
