Tuesday 25 February 2024 – The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), hosted a delegation from the Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana, led by Executive Secretary Sampson Asaki Awingobit, for a courtesy call on the Centre’s CEO Simon Madjie.
The meeting centered on enhancing cooperation and their commitment to supporting the GIPC’s efforts in promoting Ghana as a premier investment destination.
According to the Executive secretary of the Association Mr Sampson Asaki Awingobit, the association will extend its support to the activities of the Centre in the areas of advocacy and research particularly when it comes to the amendment of the GIPC Act and attracting investments into export driven sectors of the economy.
Addressing the group, our CEO Mr Simon Madjie emphasized the importance of continued consultations with the association for investment growth and national development.
He explained that the GIPC is embarking on a mission to Map out investment opportunities in all districts across the country and that will require consultation and engagements with the association and other key stakeholders including local leaders.
In the area of investment facilitation, Mr Madjie noted that the centre was keen on harmonizing business registration processes as well as investment laws to improve the ease of doing business. Additionally, he revealed that the GIPC will be piloting a 24hr investment registration service as the Centre improves efficiency in its service delivery.
To solidify ties between the Association and the GIPC the executive secretary Sampson Asaki Awingobit proposed an MOU between the GIPC and the Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana.
