The Centre hosted an insightful workshop yesterday in collaboration with MDF West Africa and AFFORD UK to spotlight Ghana’s investment climate and showcase opportunities in tourism, agriculture, and real estate.
The event formed part of Afford UK’s trade mission to Ghana and featured Rt. Hon. Diane Abbott (MP for Hackney North & Stoke Newington) and Bell Ribeiro-Addy (MP for Clapham & Brixton Hill and Chair of the APPGs on Black Maternal Health and African Reparations).

Speaking on behalf of our CEO, Mr. Simon Madjie, Mr. Kwame Kesse-Agyepong highlighted the country’s stable political environment, abundant natural resources, and strong market potential as key reasons for choosing Ghana as an investment destination.
He also shed light on the Centre’s Diaspora Desk, which supports diaspora investors, and the Aftercare & Investor Grievance Team, which assists in resolving investment-related issues. Mr. Kesse Agyepong further encouraged participants to look forward to next year’s Ghana International Investment Summit.

Ms. Julia Wendy Appiah, Director of MDF West Africa, provided insight into MDF’s mandate and its ongoing collaboration with Afford UK to strengthen diaspora-led investment, after which Ms. Stella O., Executive Director of Afford UK, highlighted the organisation’s 30-year track record as a leading diaspora development institution operating in Ghana, Nigeria, and Belgium.
Ms. Dora Badu Acheampong of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Ghana then guided participants through the Ghana Card registration process. Importantly, the NIA is collaborating with GIPC to establish a registration centre for non-citizens, alongside the NIA’s mass registration drive currently underway in the UK.
The workshop concluded with a lively Q&A session, offering participants the opportunity to seek clarification and deepen their understanding of investment prospects in Ghana.
