Afua Tekyi-Mills is the Head of the Corporate Affairs Division of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the investment promotion agency for Ghana. She has been employed with the Centre since 2008 and has over 13 years of experience in the areas of marketing, communications and event management. Her experience has been key to the success of several high level local and international engagements for the GIPC such as several editions of the prestigious Ghana Club 100 Awards, various investment promotion missions and stakeholder engagements key to the promotion of partnership and investment into Ghana.
Prior to working with the GIPC, Afua worked as Senior Image Executive with Perfect Relations Pvt. Limited in India, consulting on the promotion of brands and visibility for several international companies and entities like the Singapore government and Hyatt Hotels in India. She has also worked in the area of business development and support for SMEs in Ghana focusing on restructuring operations and marketability of business.
Her current job portfolio includes the organization of local and international events, missions and campaigns aimed at encouraging business and partnership towards the increase of foreign direct investment in Ghana. She is also responsible for the Centre’s effective collaboration with relevant government agencies, private sector, foreign missions in Ghana and Ghana’s missions abroad in the implementation of promotional efforts aimed towards making Ghana the preferred investment destination in Africa.
She holds a Bachelor in Computer Applications and Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the Jamia Hamdard University in India, and lives with the guiding principle quoted in Colossians 3:23 – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
