Nora Bannerman Abbott is an accomplished entrepreneur with a wealth of experience spanning over forty years. She has a particular interest in developing and promoting indigenous Ghanaian businesses. Nora is the CEO of Sleek Garments Export Limited, and she has successfully managed several companies, including Sleek Fashion Limited and Sleek Garments Export Limited. Over forty years ago, she established the Africa Sleek Institute of Creativity and Technology, which has trained hundreds of young women, many of whom have gone on to establish their own businesses in textiles. Her achievements in business have earned her recognition, including being named one of the Top 20 Global Female Business Leaders by the International Financial Corporation in 2019 and induction into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame in 2021.

Mrs. Bannerman’s extensive entrepreneurial and investment experience has also made her a valuable consultant for several organizations in the textiles, garments, leather, and related industries. Her areas of expertise include business management, export promotion, trade policy negotiation, business development, and export marketing. Nora established the Sleek Fashion Institute, and she currently serves as a member of the Governing Board of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the Governing Council of Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), and an Executive member of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI). She has also served as Chairperson of the Garments and Textiles Sector of AGI and a member of the Advisory Board for the Africa Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET).

Mrs. Bannerman is a member of Rotary International and a past president of the Rotary Club of Accra-North. She holds an ICSA Diploma from Accra Technical University and a Certificate in Modern Methods of Textile Management from Illinois State University. Nora’s commitment to entrepreneurship and business development has made her a leading figure in Ghana’s business community.
