Eugenia Okyere

Head, Research & Business Development

Eugenia heads the Research Team of Ghana’s lead Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) – the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). She influences the Centre’s performance and policies related to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through investment targeting, facilitation services, and content creation while proposing investment promotion best practices through her work.

Eugenia has been key in providing content for the Centre’s promotional tools and engagements, researching key investment topics towards policy advocacy, providing information to both existing and potential investors, and producing the Centre’s investment reports on Foreign Direct Investments inflows into Ghana.

 

In recent times, Eugenia serves as the focal person for GIPC’s external relations with donor partners. Through her work, she has supported the development of a corporate strategy for the GIPC, which is being rolled out. She ensures the Centre has efficient systems and tools in place for all key functions and supports building the capacity of teams to execute the key mandate of the Centre. 

 

Eugenia also leads her dynamic and proactive team to embark upon the Regional Sensitization Tour (RST), which assists local businesses in finding suitable partnerships with foreign counterparts and attracting investments into key sectors for developing the Ghanaian economy. These include efforts to achieve the 70% contribution from the private sector for the GHC100 billion Ghana CARES program, support the GIPC in making Ghana the hub for investments in Africa, and drive the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda, even as we progress with the operationalization of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

Eugenia is a Certified Project Management Professional and a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship awards. She is a Development Economics and Policy graduate from the University of Manchester. She also holds an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy from the Maastricht School of Management – Netherlands and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana in Mathematics and Computer Science.
