Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei

Oheneba Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, hails from Akropong in the Akuapem North Constituency of the Eastern Region of Ghana. She was born to Otwasuom Osae Nyampong IV and Mrs Aforo Asiamah-Adjei on 24th July, 1982 and is the fourth child.

She started her basic education at Alsyd Academy and proceeded to St. Roses’ Senior High School and thereafter to University of Ghana, Legon for her 1st Degree Program, majoring in Psychology. Thereafter, she proceeded to do a Master’s Program in Peace and Security at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC). Due to her exceptional and impressive business and leadership qualities, She ventured into the entrepreneurial world, where she has established and managed top notch businesses from production through to logistics.

The last five years of her life has been very fulfilling and inspiring taking into account her personal aspirations and expectations. Growing up as a girl child, it had always been her aspiration to become a politician most importantly, a lawmaker (parliamentarian). Her decision was birthed from the fact that the development and welfare of the people around her, especially, the development of the girl- child and women in community participation and national development, remain an important pillar to the national and international transformational agenda.

Oheneba Dokua Asiamah-Adjei is in her second term of office as the Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North Constituency and currently the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry. Formerly, she was appointed as the Deputy Information Minister of the Republic of Ghana under H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s first term in government, in charge of Policy Communications and Administration.

She is well noted for her exhilarating roles and her determination in seeing to the development of the youth and the empowerment of the female faculty in the society. She has represented her country, the youth and women on various national and international platforms, clamoring for their progress, empowerment and wholistic development.

For her, Self-confidence is key in attaining personal and group successes. In view of that, she sees herself as an embodiment of using her self-confidence to motivate and inspire the people around her. That is why her all-time favourite quote is, “We rise by lifting others”, a quote by Robert Ingersoll.

She is married and a mother of two lovely daughters and a son.
